Our 10th Wedding Anniversary

We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on September 7th. It amazes me how fast 10 years goes by. It doesn't seem like we have been married that long. I guess that's a good thing right?!

Here we are back in 2001 on our honeymoon. We took a trip out to California and Las Vegas. this pic was taken in Vegas.

To celebrate we invited family over for dinner. Pretty low-key. I don't even have a picture of me and Aaron!

Anthony went through a phase where he tried his best to ruin pictures. I've since broke him of that habit. The idea of having his Xbox 360 taken away wasn't worth it to him to keep ruining pictures.

Yes those are shots. I only had three shot glasses so Aaron had to use one of my punch bowl cups!! lol

First Day of School 2011

Emma went into the 5th grade this year and Sara in to the 2nd.

Father's Day 2011

I tried to post in order...but after making several posts I realized I had skipped over some pics...so the summer of 2011 is totally out of order and crazy!! That's ok...I keep telling myself that!

For Father's Day this year Sara and I made Aaron a hamburger and fries. The catch was that the fries are actually sugar cookies, the burger is a brownie with cupcake bun and frosting condiments!!

Oh yeah...and it's all tiny!!! lol

Rangers Game 2011

I really don't have much to say about the Rangers game.

It was super hot, the kids were super tired (they had school, then the luncheon, then the game), the Rangers were losing and I was ready to go pretty much 10 minutes after we got there. We left at the 5th inning.

Baseball isn't my thing. I'm more of a hockey and football kind of girl.

Luncheon at Cowboys Stadium

Every year Aaron's work does a luncheon at Cowboy's Stadium. The kids love to go because we get to take a tour of the stadium. We've been three times to the new stadium and it has been a different tour each time. If you visit and take a tour, it doesn't matter which one you pick, they are all great!

We got to go into the cheerleaders locker room.

The Cowboys locker room was so nice!! Each wooden locker costs $10,000!!

I love the mini cupcakes, they are so cute!! They always have a buffet of nachos, burger and hot dogs. The food is awesome!!

They had a raffle and I was one of the first to win a prize! I chose this cute Flip video camera.

Sara won a cute t-shirt. I made her a pink and silver glitter hair bow to match!

Emma won a football, which she gave to her teacher because she is a Cowboys fan.

They also gave us tickets to the Rangers game that night so we headed over to the ballpark to watch the game!! That post is next!!

Cowboys Vs. Chargers Game

One of Aaron's employees has season tickets to the Cowboys games and they gave Aaron three tickets for the pre-season Cowboys vs. Chargers game. We took Anthony with us. Cowboys lost. Oh well, we had great seats and had a good time!

"Soul Surfer" Bethenny Hamilton

Bethenny Hamilton, the surfer who inspired the movie Soul Surfer came to speak at our church in August. We watched the movie the week before she came and our whole family was super excited to see her speak!!

The pictures were a little out of order, but I wanted to get all of them in. What an inspirational girl!

Ashley's Birthday!

August 7th was my friend Ashley's 28th birthday. I invited her over for dinner and told her that I would make her whatever kind of cake she wanted!

She chose carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. I decided to color the frosting...it made the cake look like it was melting!! OOPS!! LOL

Emma's 11th Birthday

We had a very low-key birthday for Emma this year. She didn't want a big party. She just wanted to go pick out toys.

Daddy brought her donuts for breakfast.

After picking out her toys, we went to the Chinese buffet for dinner.

She didn't want a cake, instead she chose a birthday pie! lol

In July we got a new puppy named Lucy!

She is my baby girl, although I think she really loves Aaron more than any of us combined!! She is a Maltese/Yorkie mix. Her mom is 1/2 Maltese 1/2 Yorkie and her dad is full yorkie. My mother-in-law's dogs are the parents.

She was only 3 weeks old when we got her. She was the runt and my mother-in-law had been giving her cat's milk and wet dog food since she couldn't wedge herself in between her bigger brothers and sisters to eat!

We gave her wet food and bottle fed her for about a week before she went straight for the wet food.

Anthony's Baptism at Allaso Ranch

Anthony had a great opportunity to spend a week at Fellowship's camp, Allaso Ranch. Allaso means "change" and this camp is amazing.

Here is Anthony on the way to camp....

This is a week later when we drove up to watch Anthony get baptized!!

He was baptized when he was 9 but admitted that he felt that he had done it more for me than him. This time, it was for him.

Anthony's youth pastor Derrick was the one who baptized him.

It was an amazing experience for him and he can't wait to go back next summer. They also have camps for the girls ages so we are hoping to be able to send them as well.

Baby Bunny

One day when my friend Ashley was leaving our house, she came back in and said to come quick with the camera because our cat was playing with a baby bunny.

Well, her version and "playing" was different than Niko's version. He was actually trying to kill them bunny. oops

We rescued the bunny from Niko and brought him inside.

Niko had gotten a couple of good swipes with his claws before we got the bunny from him and the bunny ended up dying in the middle of the night. Poor bunny. He was super cute.

My 35th Birthday

My birthday is July 9th and I have to say that this year's birthday was hands down the best ever.

Both of my girls, Emma & Sara chose to accept Jesus as their savior and get baptized. I am one proud mama!

I tried to make it a special day for them by decorating the table.

They helped me make petit fours, including making the crosses.

My mom bought each girl a cross to wear.

Our church has a "children's baptism" every few months and they had special characters walking around.

Look at all of those kids who decided to take the leap and get baptized. Simply awesome.

That's right baby, they are on God's Team!!!

My beautiful Emma. She has an amazing smile and a wonderful heart. I am so proud to be her mama.

My little Sara Bear. She is so shy and timid, I am so proud that she didn't hesitate to go into the water and show everyone her love for Jesus.

Patriotic Pool Party

Aaron's friend Trevor invited us over to celebrate the holiday and go swimming.

I made these chocolate covered strawberries to take with us! They are just dipped in white chocolate and then blue sprinkles.

I put them on a platter with fresh blueberries!

I also made these jalapeno poppers. They are delicious and were a big hit!

All you do is cute jalapenos in half, scrape out the seeds, fill with cream cheese, wrap with bacon and bake in the oven on a broiler pan! You definitely do not want to cook them on a cookie sheet, you really want the grease to drain as much as possible.

Patriotic toes! All 3 of us girls had are toes painted this way...complete with real glitter!

Fellowship Church Freedom Experience 2011

Our church had an awesome 4th of July celebration for everyone. We go to Fellowship Church in Grapevine and we love it there. The kids love it too. After service, they had games, food and fireworks over the lake that is behind the church.

Flavour Sisterhood Summer Edition

I found out that Bethenny Frankel was having a bottle signing in Addison, which isn't very far from where I live, so of course I had to go!

They had a professional photographer taking pics that you could download on their website.

They made it hard to get close enough to get good pics, so here is the best I could do...

I gave her a gift bag with bows for Bryn and her assistant contacted me about my address and a few weeks later I got this thank you card in the mail!

As an early birthday present, my mom bought us Bruno Mars tickets!!! YAY!! I love Bruno Mars!

Ran into this lady in the bathroom and asked her if I could take her pic!

The first opening act...Patrick Stump. Not my kind of music.

Next was Janelle Monae. She is becoming more and more famous and I must say that I did not enjoy her show. It was too fast, too long and not very good.

We left for awhile and sat outside the auditorium, hoping Janelle Monae would end.

Finally!! Bruno Mars!!

It was awesome! I will definitely go to another Bruno Mars concert!

After we left we drove from Grand Prairie all the way to Frisco to try In & Out Burger!! It had opened up a week or so earlier.

It was like 11pm on a Tuesday and totally packed!

It was a great date night for us!

Mother's Day 2011

For Mothers Day this year, the kids and I took my mom on a train ride to Fort Worth.

We rode the Grapevine Vintage Railroad...

Carrie's Baby Shower

Carrie is a friend of mine that I met my junior year of high school when we were both in NJROTC! She just recently had her first baby, Janessa. Here are the pics of her baby shower, which was held at Razzoo's. I had never eaten there before but the food was so good!

Big John, Lewisville High's mascot stopped by to visit. Aaron and I both went to LHS together, class of 1995! And yes, our mascot is a big ol' Fighting Farmer!!

Scarborough Faire 2011

The last weekend in April we took the kids to Waxahachie to Scarborough Fair. It was so much fun! It was our first year going and I didn't expect it to be as much fun as it was. Totally awesome day, even though it was super hot!

(It was on the news the other day that there was a fire there and it destroyed several buildings. Hopefully they can re-build and be back open for 2012)

There are so many artisans there with the different items they make. Here is Anthony trying out padded swords.

This is Adam Crack, the Fire Whip Guy. He was soooo funny! I would love to see him there again, very entertaining!

The parade...I love all of the costumes!! Makes me want to dress up next year!

The girls picked head bands as their souvenirs. They are hung up as decoration now.

We went on the Highland Games weekend and they had cabor tossing.

There was an act that used border collies (our fav).

We got to see a wild bird show.

...she wouldn't put her hands up so the guy running it jumped on to show her how. She still wouldn't do it.

Everyone in costume was so cool about taking pics with us.

I loved the costume shops!! They had the most beautiful costumes!!

Easter 2011

Easter was very low-key this year. We just spent time together at home and let the kids do an egg hunt. It was a little rainy that day.

St. Patrick's Day 2011

I am attempting to catch up my blog, but I have a long ways to go since it is now the end of August. This is where I left off. Sorry for the mass blogging, just want to be current!!

Arkansas Spring Break Day 1

As soon as we got on the highway to head to Arkansas I passed out travel bingo, scavenger hunt and tick tac toe sheets to give the kids something to do and look for on the trip.

Anthony noticed on the scavenger hunt that one of the items was a logging truck and he said "what are the odds we are going to see one of those" and I said "you never know" Well guess what? We didn't see one...we saw three!! The first one was on a small road we took by mistake and it was parked in someone's driveway, logs on it and all!

We stopped at the Beef Jerky Outlet outside of Garland to check it out.

The guy that worked there was determined to get Anthony to try this "hot sauce"

And he decided to go for it

This was before the heat kicked in

And this is him, eyes watering, breathing crazy, scrambling for the car keys to get his drink...he downed 3 Gatorades quick!

Then the guy was about to give it to Emma. A 10 year old! That made us pretty mad because it was really hot. Aaron tried it too and our next stop was at a gas station for milk. For the next hour the boys drank milk and put ice cubes on their tongue to cool the fire!

Anthony did pick up some gator jerky to try. He liked it.

We finally made it to Arkansas!

Next stop...Crater of Diamonds State Park!

Arkansas Spring Break Day 1-2 Crater of Diamonds

Our first stop on our trip was to the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas.

We got there late in the day so we set up our campsite...

gathered wood for a fire...(look at Anthony pretending to help)

got the fire going...

roasted marshmallows for smores...

and had hot dogs for dinner!

The next morning it was time to get out there and find me some diamonds!!

Unfortunately, no one found me any diamonds!! But there was a little girl that found a 2 carat diamond that day! Lucky!!

It was still a lot of fun regardless!

Arkansas Spring Break Day 2 Random

Emma got into trouble right after I took this pic because she wasn't wearing her seat belt. She is the only one of my children that does not automatically put it on when she gets in the car.

If you were to ever ride anywhere with me and my kids, this is how the car ride starts...

Me: Everyone have their seat belts on? Sara: Not Emma Me: EMMA?? Emma: I'm getting it on right now! Me: You know the first thing you do when you get into the car is put on your seat belt! Emma: I know! I know!

uhhhhh sometimes it's just frustrating being a mom! lol

We stopped off at a Taco Bell and the girls tripped out over the swivel seats. I didn't get why they thought they were so funny, then I realized that Taco Bell's don't have swivel seats anymore. hahaha

And for whatever reason...these were the ceiling tiles. In Taco Bell. Yep.
