This morning I found our hamster Oliver dead. It had been a couple of days since I had heard him rumbling around his cage so I made Aaron take it down (it was on a high shelf) and check and sure enough the little guy was curled up dead. He couldn't of been dead for long, if it wasn't for the fact that he wasn't moving you would think he was just asleep.
So we took some bedding and a little scrap of fabric that has mice on it and placed it in a shoebox. He put his chew toy in there with him and we wrote his name on the box. Then at the bottom of the lid we put "We love and will miss you" and all of us signed it. Now Aaron has to go to his dad's and bury it.
The kids took it really well. The first thing Emma and Anthony asked was if they could get another hamster. NO. Well, if Max dies can we get another hamster? yes. Can we get 2 more hamsters? no. At least they handled it well. Poor Oilver. I think that if Max died they would be hysterical. They all love Max and play with him everyday.
