my new shoes

I love boots, but I am just not a boot person. I love fuzzy fur shoes though and my mom bought me these today. Aren't they adorable? I am going to wear them over to Kristen and Daniel's on Thanksgiving. Love them!

Girl Scout Mother Daughter Tea

Yesterday was Emma's Girl Scout Mother Daughter Tea event so I took both girls. It was a lot of fun. There were several troops there and Emma was part of the color guard at the beginning of their GS ceremony. I'm so proud of her. She really loves Girl Scouts.

I didn't take a lot of pictures because I completely forgot I had my camera in my purse.

They had cute little croissant sandwiches and tons of tiny sweets for the girls. Both of them had sugar cookie tea which was pretty good and did taste just like a sugar cookie!

Celestial Seasonings actually have a lot holiday teas that sound good. Candy Cane Lane, Sugar Plum Spice and Nutcracker Sweet.

Speaking of Nutcracker....I'm taking both girls to see the Nutcracker ballet in the beginning of December. We are going with Girl Scouts, so that should be a lot of fun. I love The Nutcracker and it's been a couple of years since I've taken Emma.

Our New Family Member

We decided to get the kids a new pet for Christmas. We have had hamsters and didn't want to go that route again so we looked into rats and guinea pigs. I actually like rats better but I fell in love with a particular guinea pig at Petco and had to have him. Right now!!

I was afraid that if we waited someone else would buy him and he was so adorable, I just couldn't take that chance! We actually went to the pet store 5 times in 3 days before we finally bought him.

So here he is, our new family pet,

Scotty Ann Furhair Bagby!

I love him so much. He is the sweetest little guinea pig. He loves to run and he has several different noises he makes. He purrs, wheet wheets, sings, chirps. The cutest is when he is happy and purrs. When guinea pigs are happy they definitely let you know it! And they do these cute little jumps called popcorning when they are happy.

Even though he is supposed to be a family pet, he is my baby and I look forward to seeing him every morning. He sits on my lap and watched tv with me. lol

I would definitely recommend a guinea pig as a pet, they are so sweet!

Halloween 2009

This year we spent Halloween over at Kristen and Daniel's. We all took the kids trick-or-treating together and then threw a Halloween party for the kids and adults.

Here is Jeff and Heather all dressed up. I love Heather's costume, she looked so cute!!

My little witch Sara.

My mom and the girls made the cupcakes and Kristen made these awesome peanut butter cookie things that were soooo good!

Daniel made sure the liquor cabinet was well stocked! lol

Sara, Katie (Kristen's daughter) and Emma, my gypsy.

All of the kids right before trick-or-treating.

Who could this be?

Anthony!

Nurse Shannon.

And her patient Fletcher...he had a bad accident at work that day.

Put on Thriller and the kids started dancing. The room was totally dark except for the black light.

Me and Daniel!

Me and Chris.

Me with Jen.

Me with Kristen.

Kristen was a cherry pie and Daniel was the cherry pie eating contest winner. lol

Me and Jeff.

Jen and Shawn.

All of the guys, except Aaron because he got there so late.

All of the girls.

Aaron finally got there!

Kristen and her brother Jeff.

My mom was there and took the girls home with her that night, Anthony spent the night at Kristen's with lil Daniel, and somewhere around 4:30 am I went to sleep in the guest room, and Aaron and Jeff crashed out about 5 am.

It's been a long time since we stayed up that late at a party!! We are too old for that! lol

It was a lot of fun, probably one of the best Halloween's I've ever had!

Fall Carnival

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged. I haven't had the internet at my house and I can't say that I really miss it! I can access the internet on my Blackberry so it's not like I've been completely without.

Friday, October 30th the girls school had a fall carnival. My mom came and picked us up and we went to check it out. I am so glad that I bought our tickets in advance! I got twice as many as I would have if I bought them at the carnival.

Here is Emma and her friend Maggie. I handed over some tickets and the two of them went off to play games. Anthony ran into some of his friends too and he went off with them.

So it was just me, my mom and Sara.

I didn't get any pics of Anthony's turn at the dunk tank, but he hit the bullseye on his third try and dunked the teacher! lol

It was a lot of fun. Afterwards, my mom dropped me off at Kristen's and she took the kids home with her. Since we had the carnival to go to, we skipped Family Movie Night.

Run Around Saturday

Our original plan for Saturday was to take the kids to Six Flag's for Fright Fest. We were excited that they were trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest amount of people doing the Thriller dance at one time.

We were not so excited when we got there and the only parking was in the last parking lot in the last row! There was no way we would even be able to ride any rides, so we decided to go back a different day and find something else to do.

That something else was to ride the Trinity Railway Express train from Fort Worth to Dallas. Yay, the kids have always wanted to do that. So we get to the Fort Worth station and park just as the train got there and we missed it.

By then it was getting dark and we needed something to do with them...so we headed over to Northwood University to their Haunted Forest.

Emma decided she wanted to wear Sara's purple pettiskirt. She promised not to get anything on it since it's part of Sara's Halloween costume. And she didn't. Good girl.

Sara had just hurt herself and she was trying to smile for me, poor baby. You like her ghost shirt? I made that for her.

Another try at smiling.

Here we are, about to head over the bridge to the forest.

The kids had a great time, we had a great time. All in all it was pretty fun.

Family Movie Night 10/23

This week for Family Movie Night we watched The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I have loved this version of the legend of Sleepy Hollow since I was a kid. Definitely recommend it!

After the kids went to bed Aaron came home from work and brought me this! One of his employees is from Puerto Rico and brought back a bottle of rum for Aaron. He stopped off and got some daiquiri mix and we had strawberry daiquiri's and watched Transformers. What an awesome Friday night!

Christmas Pillowcases

Last post I talked about some projects for all of the new fabric I have.....

Here is what I did with it.....Christmas pillowcases for the girls!

I love them! I wish I knew how to make sheets, because this fabric is so bright and soft!! I think I might have to make them blankets out of this stuff because I'm in love!

i love fabric

I no longer have a ribbon addiction, I have a fabric addiction!

I love all of the new fabrics that are out right now. I have gotten to know which fabric designers I like and don't like. Michael Miller, Sandi Henderson, Paula Prass, just to name a few!

So for now I am giving you a sneak peak of my new fabrics and when I'm done with my projects, I will share with you what I made out of them!

For this pink snowman fabric, the only thing I can tell you is that the project is for Sara.

And the blue is for Emma.

I LOVE Carnival Bloom fabric. I don't know why, but it is my most favoritist (I made that word up, you like? lol) fabric in the whole wide world. I don't know why, it just is.

Aren't these night owls adorable? I am not usually one to go for funky fabric, but I was drawn to these two together.

And to this as well.

Oh I can't wait to make this project. It's obviously for Christmas, but what is it gonna be??

Sara and Emma have scarves made from this fabric and the next and I loved it so much that I bought some. And it has sat in a bag for a month now because I didn't know what to do with it. But I do now!!

I love fall and I love fall fabric! I bought this fabric to make the girls scarves. Oops, I gave it away. Yep, that is the plan for this fabric. Scarves. It's okay if I let one slip.

And this project is almost done. It's a skirt for Sara. I adore hot pink and black together...then throw in some polka dots and it's love. hehehe

Do you see the grey fabric with the hot pink and lime flowers? That is the fabric I have to make Sara a pillowcase dress. But I don't know where I put it!! Ahhhh I think it's in the back of the minivan...that is the only place I haven't looked!

So that is it for now! Hopefully it won't take me that long to get all of my projects done!

lots of boo bags

Here are some of the boo bags I've made for people. It has been a lot of fun, but man it's a lot of work! I'm just glad to be caught up and done for this year! My plan from now on is to make everything in advance and only sell what I've already made.

I hope everyone enjoys them and has fun trick-or-treating!
