Our Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I hope y'all had a safe and happy day yesterday. We just lounged around all day. My mom came over and we watched movies while the boys watched football. Then we ate some turkey!

Anthony made a leaf pile and wanted to take pics with his sister's.

My first ever homemade pecan pie. Awesomeness! Got it from PW!!

This pic is crazy. It's like she is controlling the leaves with her magic powers! lol

Of course they played football. It's Thanksgiving isn't it?!

Sara just sat in the back of the truck and played with her doll house. She had no interest in playing football, my little girly girl!

And she had to show off her tat's!

Bear hug from Daddy!

And a pic of Mommy and Anthony. I really should have put on some make-up!

Flashback Friday Five

Well I'm on time this week! lol And I put in an extra picture because it's hard to pick just 5 sometimes! The subject this week is Sara. I've done Emma and Anthony, now it's the little pumpkin's turn.

I always get the best goofy pictures from her because the child is strange. In a good way I think. She is the most like me out of the 3 in that way. Very unique. hehehe She is my shadow and follows me everywhere I go. She is my stalker!

Here she is 2 years ago when it snowed for one day. Her hands were cold.

This was taken when she was 3 and we were about to leave for church. In case you can't figure it out, she is a fish on a hook.

I call this pic, when Hitler meets Heidi, this is what their children would look like. ROFL

Little bitty Sara when she was born. I was trying to show that her head was only the size of my palm (it looks bigger in the pic). SHe was only 5 1/2 pounds whenb she was born, cute little thing.

She did this all on her own, I just took the pic. See what I was talking about earlier about strange. uh huh She's wearing her sisters undies in this one. lol

She is 2 years old here and not happy with me! I wanted to take her picture and she didn't want me too. She is just as stubborn as I am!

Flashback Friday Five

I know that technically the FF is late again, but I didn't forget about it yesterday I was just really busy. And those of you that have 3 kids, or 2 kids or even 1 kid know how that happens sometimes. But I threw in an extra pic to make up for it.

This week's FFF is all about Anthony. My firstborn child who, on his next birthday, will turn 13 and become a teenager. (cry cry cry) My baby is growing up was too fast!! But here are some pics of him looking all cute of course! lol

He is almost 2 years old here

This is him at 7 years old playing football in Plano. I love this picture, he is just so darn handsome here!

Here is my little basketball head at 10 months old. Check out his little elf ears! hehehe

Here he is at 9 years old playing baseball out in East Texas.

Anthony at 3 years old, almost 4. I am pregnant with Emma in this pic. And you can't really see, but I had blonde hair too.....well I guess by this time I had a lot of brown roots grown back in. oops

My boy at 4 years old. Looks at that face! I love love love this pic. Those ears man, he so has a job at the mall helping Santa one day.

Flashback Friday Five...yes I know it's Monday

Okay I have done horrible at the Flashback Friday Five stuff. I have been working through a lot of personal stuff and blogging hasn't really been at the top of my list. Plus we haven't been doing anything too exciting worth talking about. But here is 2 weeks worth of FFF. All Halloween themed.

Sara at the pumpkin patch last year.

Emma last year.

Anthony last year.

Emma - Halloween 2005

Field trip right before Halloween 2005. Look how freaking cute she is!!

I was a chaparone so of course Sara came with us. She was so little here!

Obviously Emma is a witch and Sara is a pumpkin.

Halloween last year. The girls were both kitty's.

Anthony was Zabuza from Naruto.

And here we all are together. Emma was supposed to be a witch so I made her the hat but then she changed her mind to a kitty so I wore the hat.

True Blood

I have a new favorite show. It's called True Blood and it comes on HBO on Sunday nights. I am totally in love with this show and if I could only choose one show to watch for the rest of my life, this would be it. That means giving up Grey's, Desperate Housewives and Sons of Anarchy. It's just that good. I even have my mom hooked on it now.

It is set in northern Louisiana and the story is pretty much that the Japanese created an alternative blood source for vampires so they have "come out of the coffin" and have been living out in the open with humans for 2 years now.

Instead of explaining the whole show, you can read about it on their website here. And if you have On Demand, you can watch all of the previous episodes. I actually started the show 6 episode's into it and stayed up until 5 am to watch all of them.

And what is cool is that they totally leave you hanging at the end of each episode. I really don't think that tv show's really do that anymore. Especially since they give you sneak peek's into what is going to happen the next week. Not this show....you just have to make sure you watch the next week to find out what happens next!

Oh, let me warn you that there are very graphic sex scenes. I was taken back by how very realistic they were at first, but it's a vampire show and vampire's and sex have always been thrown together. Just thought I'd let ya know so you aren't totally shocked.

country music

I have totally been into country lately. Not just any country mind you...1990's country. Really the time period between 1990-1992. I have a good reason, that is the only time period I listened to country. I didn't have a choice. I lived in two different towns in North Dakota, the smallest having a population of 24 (yes you read that right, 24) and the biggest having a population of like maybe 1500.

And in such small towns, they don't get good rock station reception. When I moved to Dallas at the end of 1992 I listened to 106.1 and a whole new world of music opened up to me. I have to say that I'm a little partial to punk, techno, ska and rockabilly. But back in 1992 my favorite singer was Mark Chesnutt. I love his voice. I also liked Garth Brooks, who didn't?

So here is my playlist for right now....

Fishin in the Dark - Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
Meet in the Middle - Diamond Rio
The Race is On - Sawyer Brown
I'll Think of Something - Mark Chesnutt
Shameless - Garth Brooks
Friends in Low Places - Garth Brooks
The Dance - Garth Brooks
She's in Love with the Boy - Trisha Yearwood
Chattahoochie - Alan Jackson
Dumas Walker - Kentucky Headhunters
Bubba Shot the Jukebox - Mark Chesnutt

Now I left off songs like Achy Breaky Heart. Don't get me wrong, I did love the song back in the day, but that wore off about 5 minutes after it came out.

Our First Black President

I want to start off by saying that any negative comments will be deleted.

I did not want Obama to win, I voted for John McCain. But, regardless, I think that it's incredible that the first black president was elected in my lifetime. This is such a huge historical moment in American history and not only did I get to witness it, but my children did too.

It's amazing how far this country has come and I'm very proud to be an American. Today was momentous to me because it was the first time I have ever voted. It really felt like I was a part of something. I've always been very patriotic. I grew up with grandparents extremely involved with the VFW and the Auxillary. I marched in parades and handed out poppy's. I love my country.

American history is one of my favorite subjects and it is forever changed today. It's almost too much to grasp. I hope that Obama will do good things with his time in office. Like I said, I wanted McCain to win, but he didn't, so it's time to move forward.

I'm kind of on the edge of my seat now waiting for the change that was promised. I'm not too sure I'll be happy with it, but I'll be waiting for it nonetheless.
