my strange child

She is definitely my child. But...really?! Does she have to be so strange all of the time? Of course she does. All I know is that I will have plenty of blackmail photos of her when she gets older.

Really I love her strangeness....it's like watching a little Cortni (a little Cortni who looks nothing like me) walk around being herself. Or myself....you know what I mean.

my new phone!!

Me and Aaron went and got new Blackberry Storm's yesterday!! I am pretty excited about my new toy! Aaron wanted to just go and look at them but I fell in love so I convinced him to go ahead and get them. He needed a new phone anyways, his was always dying.

Oh and we got The Boy his first cell phone too. But he got a little mouthy and lost it before he even had the service turned on. He will learn one of these days. lol

I tried and tried to use my camera to take pics but they just didn't come out well, so here is a picture of my phone from their website.

It's pretty cool. It's a touch phone so everything comes up on the screen. You can have your email's sent to your phone and you can browse the internet just like it's a mini computer. It's going to take me forever to learn all of it's features!

This is a pic of the case I picked for it.

And this is my old, worn out phone. It was actually my sister-in-law's first and then I got it. Now I guess it will be passed on to my mother-in-law since she wants it.

Sara's Bow Holder

Here is Sara's hair bow holder I made her tonight. It took me forever to get it done but it was worth it. I made it to match the cross painting I made earlier. I want to add some hot pink ribbon and zebra ribbon to hang the bows from but I'm going to have to wait until I can get to the store to do that. I will tie the ribbon to the pegs at the bottom of the board.

The hair bow holder is another item that didn't cost me anything to make. I bought these peg boards a year ago at a thrift store for $3.00 each and they have sat at the top of my closet ever since.

I have to admit that I am pretty proud of myself on this one. I've always enjoyed painting because it totally relaxes me and these projects have way exceeded my expectations. The cross picture is 9x12 and the peg board is about 12x18, actually a little bigger than that.

Next on my list is a cross and peg board for Emma. Emma's won't be a bow holder as she doesn't wear bows anymore but I'm sure she will find something to hang from it. Hers will be brown, turquoise and leopard themed so that should turn out cute.

Here are some 8x10 canvases I painted for Sara a couple of weeks ago. I haven't gotten around to attaching ribbon to them and hanging them up just yet. I have been feeling really crafty lately and I have a ton of projects around the house I need to get finished so I can blog them. But here is what I have for now....hope you like them (leave me comments if you do!!)

I have tons of laundry to catch up on tomorrow so Emma's probably won't be done until Monday, so make sure you come back to check them out!!

faith, hope & love

Real quick I thought that I would share with you a painting that I started working on last night and I finished up today. I happen to like it a lot. I actually saw it for sale somewhere for $95 (95 dollars!!!!) and I thought to myself....I can make that! So I did, and I'm quite happy with it. And I already had the canvas and the paints so it didn't cost me anything.

I am still sick and my lungs burn and I can't quit coughing. I'm taking antibiotics and hopefully this will go away soon and I can get back to my normal life!!

Anyways, in the meantime I am doing craft projects to keep my sanity. As soon as I get off of here I am going to get started on a rather large hair bow holder for Sara. She needs a big one though being a little girl whose mommy makes tons of hair bows for her. And I will of course post it when I'm done.

some stuff I made

Since I am sick again, I have been lounging around and yesterday I decided to get all creative and decorate some wooden picture frames.

This one is my favorite. I think it's the prettiest one and the picture is great. I took it at the Valentine's Day dance at the girl's school. I am seriously in love with this frame.

This one turned out good too. The paper isn't lined up perfect and I think I like it more because of it. Whenever I make stuff like this, the paper is always crooked or rippled, or there is just something that goes wrong with it....but that's okay, I've come to accept that it will always be that way.

I have waited way too long to make Emma a frame for her birthday picture. She is such a horse lover and her birthday was so much fun.

This I made a week or so ago. Since I am redecorating the kid's room, I wanted some pictures of the girl's in there. And since they are each others best friends, I made them a sisters frame.

Valentine's Slumber Party

This year on Valentine's Day we decided to have the first annual
Emma & Sara's Valentine Slumber Party!!

Here is Emma helping me make the cheese fondue. We had lil' smokies, cheese tortellini and mini pizza ravioli's to dip in the cheese.

Everybody loved the fondue. I was really happy that it turned out to be such a hit.

For dessert we had chocolate fondue with pretzel sticks, marshmallows, strawberry marshmallows and bananas to dip in it. Of course the kids made little marshmallow chocolate people first. lol

All in all the kid's had a great time. They spent most of their time outside, either in the backyard with the dog or in the front yard riding scooters and playing with chalk on the chalkboard (my art easel is outside for them).

I cannot wait until spring gets here and we can spend most of our time outdoors. Summer just gets too hot to be outside all day, so spring is perfect. Good thing my friend Ashley lives up the street and has a pool in her backyard, because that is where we are spending our summer!

Valentine's Day

Here are some pictures of the kids getting their Valentine's Day gifts.

Anthony got a couple of DS games.

Aaron got both girl's balloons and little baskets with stuffed animals. Emma got a polar bear and Sara an elephant, which she named Sophia 2. My Webkinz elephant's name is Sophia. lol

I picked out little metal banks and notebooks with mini pens and pencil cases. Emma got a Hannah Montana bank and the rest of her stuff was Tinkerbell. Sara got all Tinkerbell.

Aaron and I go for practical gifts for each other, so we jointly got a George Foreman family size grill and I got an iced tea maker. How romantic. ;)
