Run Around Saturday

Our original plan for Saturday was to take the kids to Six Flag's for Fright Fest. We were excited that they were trying to get into the Guinness Book of World Records for the largest amount of people doing the Thriller dance at one time.

We were not so excited when we got there and the only parking was in the last parking lot in the last row! There was no way we would even be able to ride any rides, so we decided to go back a different day and find something else to do.

That something else was to ride the Trinity Railway Express train from Fort Worth to Dallas. Yay, the kids have always wanted to do that. So we get to the Fort Worth station and park just as the train got there and we missed it.

By then it was getting dark and we needed something to do with them...so we headed over to Northwood University to their Haunted Forest.

Emma decided she wanted to wear Sara's purple pettiskirt. She promised not to get anything on it since it's part of Sara's Halloween costume. And she didn't. Good girl.

Sara had just hurt herself and she was trying to smile for me, poor baby. You like her ghost shirt? I made that for her.

Another try at smiling.

Here we are, about to head over the bridge to the forest.

The kids had a great time, we had a great time. All in all it was pretty fun.

Family Movie Night 10/23

This week for Family Movie Night we watched The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. I have loved this version of the legend of Sleepy Hollow since I was a kid. Definitely recommend it!

After the kids went to bed Aaron came home from work and brought me this! One of his employees is from Puerto Rico and brought back a bottle of rum for Aaron. He stopped off and got some daiquiri mix and we had strawberry daiquiri's and watched Transformers. What an awesome Friday night!

Christmas Pillowcases

Last post I talked about some projects for all of the new fabric I have.....

Here is what I did with it.....Christmas pillowcases for the girls!

I love them! I wish I knew how to make sheets, because this fabric is so bright and soft!! I think I might have to make them blankets out of this stuff because I'm in love!

i love fabric

I no longer have a ribbon addiction, I have a fabric addiction!

I love all of the new fabrics that are out right now. I have gotten to know which fabric designers I like and don't like. Michael Miller, Sandi Henderson, Paula Prass, just to name a few!

So for now I am giving you a sneak peak of my new fabrics and when I'm done with my projects, I will share with you what I made out of them!

For this pink snowman fabric, the only thing I can tell you is that the project is for Sara.

And the blue is for Emma.

I LOVE Carnival Bloom fabric. I don't know why, but it is my most favoritist (I made that word up, you like? lol) fabric in the whole wide world. I don't know why, it just is.

Aren't these night owls adorable? I am not usually one to go for funky fabric, but I was drawn to these two together.

And to this as well.

Oh I can't wait to make this project. It's obviously for Christmas, but what is it gonna be??

Sara and Emma have scarves made from this fabric and the next and I loved it so much that I bought some. And it has sat in a bag for a month now because I didn't know what to do with it. But I do now!!

I love fall and I love fall fabric! I bought this fabric to make the girls scarves. Oops, I gave it away. Yep, that is the plan for this fabric. Scarves. It's okay if I let one slip.

And this project is almost done. It's a skirt for Sara. I adore hot pink and black together...then throw in some polka dots and it's love. hehehe

Do you see the grey fabric with the hot pink and lime flowers? That is the fabric I have to make Sara a pillowcase dress. But I don't know where I put it!! Ahhhh I think it's in the back of the minivan...that is the only place I haven't looked!

So that is it for now! Hopefully it won't take me that long to get all of my projects done!

lots of boo bags

Here are some of the boo bags I've made for people. It has been a lot of fun, but man it's a lot of work! I'm just glad to be caught up and done for this year! My plan from now on is to make everything in advance and only sell what I've already made.

I hope everyone enjoys them and has fun trick-or-treating!

busy Saturday

Saturday was the last day of the Grapevine Farmers Market for this year and since I plan on having a booth there next season, I wanted to drop by and check it out. It was pretty small. And there was no fruits or vegetables.

But, no other vendors were selling the types of things I make so that is pretty cool! It'll be nice to have no competition! Well, at least this year there wouldn't have been!

There is a fountain in the center and Sara made 3 wishes.

It also happened to be the Butterfly Flutterby, so Sara and I dropped by that to check it out. They had vendors selling framed butterfly specimen's and she kept asking why they killed those butterflies. I told her they found them dead. What was I supposed to say?!

Aaron was still watching the Longhorns beat that Okie butt, so we stopped by a park to play.

After we got Daddy, we went out to dinner at Souper Salad in Southlake. Definitely the cleanest one I've ever been in. And they didn't have runny bleu cheese dressing. That's a plus.

Aaron had to stop by work for awhile so Sara collected acorns.

After that we went and picked up Emma and Anthony from my mom's and after they went to bed, Aaron and I went up to Life Time to play some raquetball. Neither of us really knew how to play and really I don't have the patience to learn, so we just hit it as hard as we could to make the other run after it.

Worked for me! lol We played for about an hour and boy did we work up a sweat! I was aching when I went to bed that night! Love it! It was so much fun. I tried to get Aaron to go last night but he just looked at me like I was crazy and then went to bed! lol

I love Life Time Fitness. It is so nice and perfect for families! A little pricey, but it's worth it. And it's open 24 hours so we can go in the middle of the night to run around acting like fools playing raquetball and there isn't anyone there to see us! lol

Family Movie Night 10/16

On Friday's Family Movie Night we watched Casper, which I absolutely love! I think it's such a cute movie.

The weather was so beautiful, we didn't start the movie until late so the kids could go over to their friends houses and play. Then my mortal enemy, the ice cream man made an appearance on our street and I went ahead and let the kids get an ice cream.

Then my mom showed up to take the boy and Emma to her house and she stayed and watched the movie with us.

This Friday is the last free Friday we have before Halloween, so our movie nights will be extended into the weekends.

I love that Halloween is almost here!

We are meeting up with our friends this weekend to take the kids to Fright Fest at 6 Flags. Then next week is so super busy for us. Our church is having a fall carnival, Emma has her Girl Scouts fall party, the girls school is having a fall carnival on Friday and then Halloween is the next day!

And since I am helping throw the Halloween party for the kids at Kristen's, I will be busy all day until it's time for trick-or-treating, then the party! Whew, October is busy busy!!

The only thing I have planned for November is taking fall pictures of the kids.

So I will have a little rest until December!!
