More snow pics

I love this picture I took last night of the trees. It looks kind of creepy.

Look at our car!!

Good morning! I took this when I first got up this morning.

My stalker dog Caleb. He LOVES the snow and running around in it.

I love this pic!! Even with Emma in her jammies and all!! lol

On the agenda for today is building a snowman, more snow painting and making snow ice cream. Also...a lot of hot chocolate!! This pic is from last night. As soon as we got home from sledding I made the kids some hot chocolate to warm up.

Sledding

When I ran up to Walmart yesterday I noticed that on the side of the building there was a steep slope of untouched snow, so as soon as the kids got home from school we drove up there so they could go "sledding" down it.

Well this is Texas and they just don't sell sleds, so we opted for the lids off of storage bins in our garage! ha! The kids had so much fun! We were out there for about an hour before they couldn't handle the cold anymore and we headed home.

Be sure to watch the videos at the bottom, they are great!

Snow Painting

Before the kids got home from school I ran up to Walmart and picked up some ketchup squirt bottles to write in the snow! I just mixed food coloring with water and that's it! Instant snow paint!

Awwwww I love my hubby. He was bummed out today because he had to be at work today instead of at home playing with the kids in the snow.

More snow pictures to come as soon as I'm done re-sizing them!

Snow Day

It snowed again here in Texas! This time is was several inches and the kids were so excited this morning. The quickest way to wake your kids up in the morning is to tell them to look outside at the snow. Trust me, they jump right up and get dressed so they can get outside to play in it! lol

Here is our car...I made Aaron take the picture so I wouldn't have to go outside. Love my hubby!

Today is going to be a busy day at work for Aaron so he took the kids to school for me. He went and started the car this morning to warm it up and then ran it out of gas!! Luckily there is a gas station right behind the house across the street so he didn't have to go far.

Just as they were about to leave Sara slipped and fell so we did a quick pants and socks change before they headed off to school.

Anthony was the least excited about the snow. He doesn't like to be cold!

I love the way snow looks in trees.

This is our backyard.

Even the little birdhouse is covered in snow!

From where I'm sitting I can look into the backyard and there are huge snowflakes falling. It is so pretty.

In a way it makes me miss living up in North Dakota. But also not. Here is a picture of the highway outside the little town I used to live in. It was the last time they had a blizzard. Could you imagine?!

It's supposed to snow all day so I am sure I will have more pics to post once the kids get home from school. See ya later!

Early Valentine's Day

Aaron and I decided to go out to dinner last night to celebrate Valentine's Day instead of eating out on Sunday when it's going to be super crowded everywhere. For Sunday we want to do something low-key with the kids...maybe a picnic at a park, something like that.

Anyways, we both have been craving crab legs so Aaron took me to Joe's Crab Shack. I love that place!! If you have never been you have to go, the food is so good!

And we got there early enough for Happy Hour! WooHoo $3 frozen drinks! WooHoo strawberry margaritas!

I didn't go with the steampots they advertise on tv all of the time...although they are excellent...just too much food. I went with the bbq seasoned dungeness crab. Oh I want to go back right this second it was so darn good!

This was out table...there are little lobsters inside the crab!

After dinner Aaron took me to pick up the purse I wanted. I had seen it earlier in the day and texted him a picture of it ha! Isn't it adorable?! I totally fell in love with it the minute I saw it. And it matches my new hot pink flip flops that match my hot pink toes!

We also stopped off at Petco to pick up my sweet little guinea pig Scotty a new cage. He outgrew his other home and his new cage is huge!! Here he is chewing up the new igloo house we got him.

He wasn't so sure if he liked it or not and I ended up putting his old house in the cage for him and that is where he slept last night. He still hasn't figured out that there is a ramp for him to go upstairs and check things out.

I love my Scotty and Aaron likes to tease me calling him a rat. How rude! lol When we go on our trip in April, Scotty is going to stay with one of Aaron's employees that has a girl guinea pig and with any luck, we will have babies this summer! I'm so excited!

Oh, and speaking of rodents. Have y'all ever heard of a capybara? Freaky freaky huge relative of a guinea pig. I love my Scotty, but I don't think I could love a capybara. It's like a guinea pig on steroids. The one in the pic below seems sweet, the lady has a video of him doing tricks...you can find it if you Google capybara.

I think I will get my mom one of these for Mother's Day. She will love it, I just know it!!! LOL
