bento for the boy

Anthony's other bento box!! All the way from Japan. It took forever to get this one! I got it cheap on ebay, and cheap bento stuff is very hard to find. Of course it is the Nightmare Before Christmas....did you know that they just came out with a special dvd of the movie? Well I guess you know one of the boy's Christmas persents.

This box is so cool. It has two compartments but the top one has a sliding divider. And I love the chopsticks, even though the boy won't use them.

He also got a seperate container to hold his other chopsticks and a fork and spoon.

Here is my big ol' hand showing you how little the bag is. Bento stuff is way smaller than you would think. Definitely not the size of a normal lunch box. And that is a good thing!! It's all about portion control. Now all you have to do is make sure you fill it with bright colorful, healthy food and then you are all set!!

When I checked my mail this morning, this is what I found! Three of them are all of the way from Japan! Can you guess what I would be getting from Japan? Okay, so the title of the post gave it away!

This is not from Japan. It's a bento cupcake holder...although I don't think it would actually hold a cupcake. Especially not a frosted one. It's more of a muffin holder. And we have two of them...one for each girl. I don't think Anthony wants a purple cupcake holder.

Anthony's long awaited Jack Skellington bento box! This is one of the three from Japan. He is very happy to not have to use his sisters Hello Kitty bento box stuff anymore!

They just don't sell cute boy bento's in the U.S. and the price for the Nightmare Before Christmas ones on ebay are crazy! I got this for only $5 and that included shipping!!! I'm bidding on another one for him, but it's a complete set.

The girl's new bento boxes (they each got one) from Japan. I actually got a great deal on these. The shipping from Hong Kong was $7.99 and the end of auction price was 99 cents!! So I got them each for about $9!! That is at least half of what you can usually get them for.

My loot of the day! I also got some cute Halloween ribbon in the mail....but I'm waiting on some other ribbon too so I will wait and post that together.

Ok so right now I tend to ramble on about bento boxes and all of the neat little gadgets and boxes I get for the kids. I should actually give my mom credit for it because she has bought me everything for it so far! Aaron says I'm too spoiled but I think that he's just jealous that she buys more stuff for me than him! lol

And if you don't want to hear about bento, go away, I didn't ask anyone to come and read my blog! This is my space and I am being nice and sharing it.

We went to the Asian World Market and Shop Minoya, both in Plano, and got all kinds of neat little boxes, soy sauce containers, etc.... and they are all Hello Kitty! Too cute! At the market we picked up some pork dumplings and chicken & veggie dumplings. I can't wait for lunch tomorrow! I think that since it's the 1st day of school I will take the kids up to the library and pack a lunch! We also got all kinds of little treats that luckily had english and japanese writing otherwise we would have never figured out what the were.

It sucks that we overslept and missed church today. I was looking forward to going, they switched the kids classes last weekend to match up with the school year and what grade they are going into. Since we missed I went ahead and decided to make a all from scratch breakfast for Aaron and the girls. We had biscuits with homemade bacon gravy, bacon & fried eggs. Tasted great but not worth the extra dishes!!

Well, everything today had to do with food and tomorrow it will be books! I always have a sore throat at the end of library day, Sara makes me every single book we check out to her before bed. Sometimes 4-5 times, especially if it's an Eric Carle book. She loves his artwork. I recommend The Lonely Firefly. The end is awesome!! Well worth it!
