Happy Birthday Anthony!

My baby boy Anthony turned 14 today.

F O U R T E E N!!!

It seems like yesterday that he was just a little baby who used to cuddle up and sleep in my arms. Now he is taller than me!! I am really proud of him though, because he is growing up to be such a nice young man!

Happy Birthday Anthony!!!

Memorial Day 2010

Happy Memorial Day!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the men and women who have served our country and given their lives to protect our freedom.

On the left is my grandpa Rudy. This was taken during World War II, where he served in the Army. I am very proud to be his grand daughter.

God Bless You All!! You are in my prayers!!

Today was a very lazy day. Around 3 o'clock the girls decided to go play with their friends and I took a couple of pics of them before they left.

Tomorrow is Anthony's birthday. I can't believe my baby is going to be 14 years old!! He is already taller than me too! They grow up so fast!

Last Day of School!

Yesterday was the girls last day of school! Summer is finally here!

I picked them up from school with goody bags for both of them filled with summer stuff!

Each girl got a beach towel, flower lei, sunglasses, flip flops, bubbles, a card from mommy and daddy and Starburst. I also bought plastic margarita glasses and sno-cone syrup to make sno-cones...and a Slip 'N Slide!

They had so much fun playing yesterday but I didn't get any pictures because I wasn't feeling very well.

Here are Emma's gifts.

And Sara's.

All ready to go! I LOVE these colors!! Blue (or teal), hot pink, lime green, orange...makes it feel like summer!

The tire on my car was flat (don't you love last minute surprises like that) so I used my FIL's car to pick up the girls. I decorated it in their school colors and added balloons for them.

Sara modeling all of her new stuff.

Anthony and Emma set up the Slip 'N Slide and the girls friends came over and played in the water for a couple of hours.

I am so proud of my girls!! Now I have a 1st grader, 4th grader and 8th grader!

I'm proud of Anthony too...but he isn't done with school yet. Because of our vacation, he has school for another week. Poor boy!!

Here are the teacher's gift we made. It's hand sanitizer decorated with their names and ribbon.

Hope everyone has a great summer!

Water Fun and New Pets

It is so hot today!!

I do not love living in Texas during the summer with how hot it gets here! And the summer is just starting!

Emma found this little kitty out in the street so she brought it home. We went searching the neighborhood to see where it belonged but nobody claimed it and we couldn't find it's mama...so now it's part of our family.

No name yet, I will get back to you on that. But he is a sweet little thing and black and white, just like Caleb. We miss him so much, my puppy puppy.

And Sara has a new pet too. Her class this year had a fish and a tiny frog and the teacher pulled names out to see who they get to go home with. Sara wanted the fish. She got the frog. It just floats around and that's it. I like low maintenance pets. lol

That is our day so far. Tomorrow is the kids last day of school. I have lots of surprises planned for them so the day should be pretty fun. I will take lots of pictures!!

Sara's Graduation

My youngest child, my baby, Sara graduated from Kindergarten today.

Congratulations Sara!!

I didn't cry but I came soooo close! Here is all of the Kindergarten classes.

They sang us a song.

Sara's teacher handed everyone a laminated page to keep with a picture and a poem. She included comments about each child. No big surprise that something was said about Sara and art. She loves art.

Sara and her teacher, Mrs. Simmons.

I'm very proud of Sara and Emma for all of the hard work they have done this year!

Next year my babies will be in 8th, 4th and 1st grades!!

Daniel's 30th Birthday!

Happy 30th Birthday Daniel!

Our friend Daniel turned 30 last week and we got back from our trip in time to make it to his birthday party.

On a quick side note...I will be uploading pictures from our trip soon. I want them to be in order and I had to have a dvd made of the first part of our trip to clear one of our memory cards. That wouldn't be a problem except that our disk drive is broken and I need to call HP to get it fixed. So hopefully that won't take too long. In the meantime, I will keep blogging our every day lives.

Back to the party!

We're Back!!

We are back from our vacation!

We had a blast and want to go back next summer if we can! We made new friends, saw some great animals out in the wild, played trivia and game shows and saw amazing glaciers.

But the highlight of the trip for me?

The very last day of it when I walked through the doors of the Seatac Airport in Seattle to run smack dab into Cord McCoy from The Amazing Race!!

It was 5 am and as soon as I walked into the building I saw Cord walking towards me and I started saying "oh my God, oh my God". lol I said "You are him, him, from the the Amazing Race!" I must have looked like an idiot! I don't care though, he was so nice!

In case you can't tell, I am smiling the biggest smile I have ever smiled!

It will take me about 2 weeks to get all of our trip photos loaded so bear with me. I am going to re-size them before I upload them but I will do my best to get them up quick!

Books I'm taking on the cruise

There hasn't been too much going on at our house this week. We are finally doing better since Caleb died. I think it's been harder on me and Aaron than it has on the kids.

We only have five days left until we head out for our cruise. We definitely need the vacation.

I love to read but never make the time for it so I thought a cruise would be the perfect opportunity to sit back, relax and read some good books. And I need some inspiration and spiritual re-charging, so here are the books I'm taking with me.

I have been wanting to read Eat, Pray, Love for quite awhile now and since they are making the movie, I thought I had better get going on it.

Believing God by Beth Moore. If you know me, you know I love Beth Moore. I have done the Believing God bible study before and I absolutely loved it. I've had this book for quite awhile but haven't sat down to read it yet.

All three of my kids are so completely different personality wise and sometimes I struggle with finding the right way to mix my personality with theirs. Hopefully this book will help me in that department.

I've owned this book for quite awhile and what I've read in it, I've really enjoyed. It will be nice to finally get it finished!

Conversations with God. I got this through Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas. You can only get it there or on their website. I've already started and I love it. You really learn to be comfortable talking to God on a regular basis. It's not just a book you read, you journal in it as well.

And last but certainly not least, my bible. I have to admit that it has been quite awhile since I have picked mine up and read it, so it's definitely time to.

If you have any suggestions for more reading material, just let me know!!
