Bento 8/29

Emma had a hot lunch today. Sara and Anthony both declined bento's, they just wanted food. Emma had cheesy broccoli, leftover pork chop, creamy pasta and strawberries.

Celebration of Will

Will's viewing was Tuesday night and Aaron & I went. I can't believe how many people came. Some I hadn't seen in over 8 years! I hope that it bring's Will's family comfort knowing that he was loved by so many people.

After the viewing everyone went to Kristen's to hang out and catch up. Kristen and Will have a beautiful little girl, Katie, together. We left at 2 am and there were still tons of people there.

Will's funeral was Wednesday and it was beautiful. The church was packed with people, they had to add seats to the back as more and more people came in, which didn't surprise me. It was said that people dropped everything in their lives to be there and it's true.

His grave is in the perfect spot, under a tree. I've always told Aaron that I wanted to be buried under a tree and when he saw that Will was under a tree he knew it was a good spot. At least by my standards.

From the cemetary we went to Will's parents house for just a bit. Then we met up with everybody at El Chico's. What was supposed to be "about 20" ended up being over 50 and took up a whole section of the restaurant. I don't think that anybody wanted to leave each other that day.

From there Aaron and I went to Aaron Buhler's house for awhile and then over to the Goforth house. The guys made a big circle to play hackey sack and they seemed to play forever. We didn't leave there until after 8 pm. I made sure I told people I loved them. Kind of paranoia now I guess. Making sure people know how I feel.

This week has been so sad but happy too. It really has been a celebration of Will. People laughing, joking, catching up and telling their Will stories. Lost friends came back. Mended relationship's.

I don't think Will could have ever guessed how his death would affect this group and bring them closer. And I hope that everyone will try a little harder to keep in touch and make an effort to really be in each other's lives.

Will

It's hard not to want to post pics of Will and his family once I get them. As I was going through them they made me smile and think "that's so Will".

Bento 8/28

Anthony declined a bento lunch today so I borrowed his bento box to use for Emma. She had a leftover cheese stick from Papa John's, chicken & cheese kebob's, strawberries and grapes.

Sara has cheese & grape kebob's, carrots and some vanilla yogurt.

2nd day of school bento's

This is Emma's lunch. She had a ham & cheese sandwich, carrots, Ritz crackers, swiss cheese wedge, grapes and some Quaker Oats mini rice cakes with chocolate drizzle on them.

Anthony's lunch. Pretty much the same as Emma's, minus the grapes.
Sara's lunch. She just had the crackers, cheese, carrots and grapes.

2nd day of school

The kid's only had a 1/2 a day of school on Tuesday. They didn't seem to mind. The 2nd day of school we worked on writing the letter f and practicing the /f/ sound.

Sara took forever doing her history pocket. I am trying to be patient with her because it's all exciting to her, but the child needs to speed it up!

She wanted me to take a picture of her bunny wearing a tiara.

just for fun

First Day of School 2008!

Well today was the day for the kid's first day of school! Everything went really smooth. Sara couldn't wait to start; she just sat at the table waiting for Emma and Anthony to get there.

Here is my middle schooler!! Only two more years until high school (yikes!)
Little Miss Emma started First Grade today! She is mad that she can't stay in Kindergarten. lol

And my baby is in Kindergarten. I wanted to cry, she is growing up. I don't care if we homeschool, your first day of Kindergarten is still your first day of Kindergarten!

Checking out their new pencil boxes and the stuff inside.

She loves her orange scissors. I'm not sure why, but she was very excited about them.

I don't know why the boy has to smile like that! Drives me crazy!

Language Arts- making letter patterns.

His choice to sit on the floor like this, strange boy, doing his writing assignment. He actually liked it and Anthony avoid's writing at all cost! He is using Writing Strands 3 in case you are wondering what miracle writing curricula got the boy to write!

Emma making letter patterns. This part was in her language arts book but it was too easy for her. yay

Math. I gave them too many worksheets today. By the time they had done 6 out of 8 pages they were over it. Whining = time to move on!

Science. This is their Weather Log Book. Well, the 2nd page of it anyways. We are studying weather this month (Sept. too).

Each girl got a sticker book to put stickers in when they are done with each subject.

Lunch time!! Yep they got bentos...pictures coming in the next post!

Anthony doing his math. We had a discussion about how we both hate math, but it has to be done. He was good about it and breezed through his assignment.

The girl's finished first and Sara came to sit with me and Anthony on the couch.

Anthony reading his science book.

My cool book organizer. hehehe Yep, it's my laundry basket. And it worked great to hold everything I needed for today. Note to self: pick up a new laundry basket because this one isn't going anywhere!
